Support with Furniture

Our charity is based in the heart of the Teams community and supports households from all across the Borough with low cost, pre loved furniture and electrical items. This helps people to lead safe, settled and comfortable home lives during times of financial hardship.

Donate

This is made possible thanks to the generosity of residents who donate furniture and appliances to us, which we collect free of charge in and around Tyne and Wear and its surrounding areas.

Employment Support

We also offer free one to one advice and guidance with CV writing, interview skills, job searches, self employment, work experience from our charity on Askew Road West, NE8 2PB.

Our popular lunch clubs and men's groups are well loved due to our freshly cooked, two course meals, warm and welcoming environment and our dedicated, caring team who make every guest feel included and valued.

Each weekday we have delicious two-course meals for just £7.50, wonderful company, and plenty of activities, games and quizzes and if there is something to be celebrated, you can guarantee that we will do it in style.

With our accessible, door to door minibus transport it's even easier to attend. It's only £4 per day too, and covers both trips, from home and back again from any address in Teams, Dunston, Lobley Hill, Bensham, Saltwell and Central Gateshead.

For people in the community or our attendees who can't make it to the centre due to illness or injury, we provide a hot lunch delivery service.

About Us

Teamwork was established in 1988 to help ease pressures for local people by creating community projects that could not only provide services for local people but create employment for them too. Our very first project provided catering to the staff building the Garden Festival! We saw this as an ideal opportunity to meet a need on our doorstep while helping local residents to access training and employment.

Over the years we have developed many community services to address different needs. Some have come and gone as issues have been addressed. Today we're supporting thousands of people every year through our services, and our social value research is showing that we're making a positive difference to individuals, families and the wider community each day.

We also have a variety of volunteer opportunities  available. To meet new people, learn something new or gain references and more to add to your CV, visit our Do It page.
